This is not the first time in history that women have been isolated behind closed doors and it won't be the last.
Popelei put a call out for writers to submit brand new theatrical monologues to the Popelei Seed Commission 2020, under the theme 'Women in Lockdown'. We were also looking for female actors to self-tape them.
After receiving more than 1000 submissions, we selected 25 monologues and cast 25 actors to self-tape each one. Every artist received £100 for their contribution. The results will be shared online by Popelei, bringing new stories to life digitally and allowing the public to view new work for free.
